IDFC First Wealth Review: Is a Free Premium Card Too Good to Be True?

The Card That Seems Too Good to Be True

Lifetime free. Airport lounge access. 6X rewards on dining. UPI rewards. 4 complimentary lounge visits per year. When you first hear about IDFC First Wealth, the natural reaction is skepticism.

But it is real, and there is a good reason IDFC First Bank offers it.

Why Does IDFC First Bank Offer This for Free?

IDFC First Bank is a newer bank aggressively acquiring premium customers. The Wealth card is their acquisition tool — they are willing to absorb the cost of premium benefits to win high-income customers who will also take home loans, investments, and savings accounts with the bank. For users, this means capturing extraordinary value while the bank is in growth mode.

What You Actually Get

**Lounge access:** 4 complimentary domestic airport lounge visits per year via Priority Pass. One per quarter — enough for casual travelers.

**Dining rewards:** 6X reward points on dining = approximately 1.5% effective cashback. On ₹5,000/month dining, that is ₹900/year in rewards.

**Travel rewards:** 6X on flight and hotel bookings. On a ₹30,000 annual travel spend, that is ₹1,350 in rewards.

**UPI rewards:** 1.5% on all UPI payments. On ₹10,000/month UPI, that is ₹1,800/year.

**Total annual reward value:** Easily ₹4,000-6,000 for a moderate spender. Zero annual fee.

The Catch

Min income of ₹10 lakh per year limits access. IDFC First Bank's ATM network and branch presence is smaller than HDFC or SBI. The points-based system requires manual redemption tracking.

Verdict

IDFC First Wealth is the best value-for-money premium card in India, period. If you earn ₹10L+ and qualify, this belongs in every wallet as a zero-cost complement to your primary card.
